Recommended Surfaces
Our peel and stick tiles work best on smooth, clean, and dry surfaces. Ideal surfaces include:
- Existing vinyl or laminate flooring
- Ceramic or porcelain tile with standard grout lines
- Linoleum in good condition
- Laminate surfaces
Surfaces to Avoid
Do not install on:
- Loose, uneven, or bumpy flooring
- Hardwood floors (may pull varnish when removed)
- Highly textured surfaces (ex. concrete)
- Areas exposed to excessive moisture
- Outdoor or uncovered spaces
- Unpainted drywall
Why Surface Matters
Installing on textured surfaces can cause tile edges to lift or become punctured. Our low-tack, renter-friendly adhesive is designed for smooth surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and clean removal.
Rough or uneven surfaces prevent full contact between the tile and adhesive, leading to poor performance and potential failure.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned before installation:
- Sweep, dust, and vacuum
- Clean with mild cleaning solution
- Remove all grease, dirt, and residue
- Allow surface to dry completely
- Wait 24 hours after cleaning before installing
Testing is Essential
We cannot guarantee our adhesive won’t cause damage to all floor types. Even on recommended surfaces, always:
- Order a single tile sample first
- Test in an inconspicuous area
- Leave test tile for 24-48 hours
- Check both adhesion and removal
Different surfaces can react differently, even within recommended categories. A sample test eliminates guesswork and prevents costly mistakes.
